Tick Run

With the big training day with Roger only a week away I decide that I really should be doing something active everyday leading up to it so that I do not totally embarrass myself or my team. So while Annalisa took Teva for an afternoon stroll, I hopped in the car drove to the trailhead and was off. I felt pretty good during the initial mile warmup to the climbing and once the hills hit... man could I feel it. As I went on, I could feel my muscles say "ouch" and then as the run continued they said "oh yeah, we remember what we need to do." This was a relief to me as my lungs were burning. All in all it was a good run and actually a pretty fast time for that particular route. The pic is of me downing some much needed nuun all the while nursing a bloody nose. One two many snock rockets I guess. Tomorrow, I plan on doing a road ride and maybe a short road run. I love Spring Break!

Knowing that I was going to run later in the evening I tried to keep the servings small and then dessert came (carrot cake and a banana pudding). Time was slipping away so just 30 minutes after dessert I changed and started out on the run. 2 miles downhill on pavement down Fay Rd to 203, where I hooked up with the SVT and ran 5 more on the trail grade. I ended up running about 7 miles at about an 8 minute pace. The road less traveled...
